Did I Believe?
Hot sands
under sandaled feet.
Many miles
I’ve walked this day,
and many more
come the morrow.
Through icy wind
and desert heat,
to a loving being
I am drawn.
It started as rumor,
to laugh and to scorn.
Though some kept it quiet;
to keep it with hope.
Did I believe?
That I did not know.
So many false,
to me it must show.
Into the night
I keep up my stride.
If I stop to rest
that hope just might die.
A single star
to light my way.
To see the new king
who was born this day.
